I heard a lot about the Malgudi Days TV series, but I had no chance to watch it yet. During this lockdown, I needed something new to refresh the mind. As I was checking few good Indian old novels, then I came across Malgudi Days. I thought instead of reading the novel let me watch one episode and see how it may be. As I watched the 1st episode, trust me I could not resist but indulge in binge-watching. I watched all the 4 seasons consisting of 54 episodes, curiosity increased from surface level to sea level from one episode to the next episode even though some episodes are independent of the previous. Here I am sharing my views on the Malgudi Days TV series.

Malgudi Days: India's finest television serial was made in 1986 before I was born. Malgudi is a small fictional town in South India. Well, it could have been anyplace on this earth since the underlying philosophies depicted in the stories are universally true. In the street of Malgudi, we see different people like a beggar, employee, proprietor, and their families. Even we see people who are lost in their world, people who are fighting and struggling for their life, people who are fed up with their problems. It depicts how the common man of India keeps hope alive to become better and resolve their problems while continuing to face day-to-day challenges. Brave or cowardly, rich or poor, they also love, worship, cheat, keep hope, dare to dream, and work towards realizing their dreams too. Everyone tells their story differently.

Malgudi Days- It's a cluster of small stories, connecting each one of us. We can associate ourselves with each episode. All the episodes reached my heart because of its simple & down to earth characters and relatable incidents. This fictional town, which takes us back to British India. As a viewer, I feel like visiting Malgudi again and again because of the narrated stories. Anyone can bet on this while watching each episode we are motivated to become a director, story writer, musician, cartoonist, lyricist, journalist, and whatnot, dreaming does not end. We can see many actors from the Indian cinema industry in this TV series. I think from this platform many became successful in their acting career. This TV series is amazing and marvelous especially concerning the beautiful sketches and music. In this, I saw profession targeted stories from class one officer to the security guard. Every episode speaks about work, humanity, money, ideas, professions, education, what is necessary, and what not for the life.  While watching I felt so real, nowhere I got bored. At the end of each episode, we can relate to ourselves. In every town, people's professions are different to meet their livelihood for the family, and how all professions carry their work in a small town is well portrayed in Malgudi days. Narrow streets, old houses, talkative and humble people, view of schools, the demand for money, politics, view of railway station surrounded by green, playing kids in the grounds, flowing river, every scene in this TV series is mind-blowing. How common people led their life during British India is showcased here, it touches all viewers.

Last but not least it's so beautiful and realistic. Once we close our eyes and rethink the characters, incidents portrayed in Malgudi Days TV series we relate ourselves to many stories in it. All the scenes captured in this cinema are extracted from real life. That's why for a moment also we don’t feel it's fictitious. Our Indian culture is having strong roots and old history, Malgudi Days is a small passage through which we can learn and understand about Indian heritage. That's why I recommend everyone to watch it once during their lifetime. I’m sure It will positively impact your thought process.
